Prime Care Nursing staffs nurses for private care, hospitals, nursing homes, and other businesses in need of nurses. It is one of the largest nurse staffing agencies in Mississippi, and it is also owned and operated by nurses. We staff nurses for both temporary and long-term needs, and provide skilled nurses for all situations, including vacations, holiday, sick leave, as well as for extended periods of time. We’ve become known as a supplemental staffing agency in the state by being attentive and responsive to all of our hospital staffing needs.
Prime Care Nursing was started by Emry Oxford, RN, BSN, MS, in 1987. Emry has always been a visionary. Prior to starting Prime Care Nursing, he worked as a CCRN in critical care for agencies in Mississippi and Louisiana. While on assignment in New Orleans, he decided he would like to start his own business and did just that when he returned to Mississippi.
Emry started out very small and worked many shifts himself. Utilizing his connections and resources, Emry was able to hire qualified nurses to work for Prime Care Nursing. Over the years Emry has gotten away from the clinical work and has developed a flourishing, well-respected healthcare business in Mississippi and the surrounding states.
